South Australia is blessed with beautiful stone – stone with colour, texture and light. Some of our stone structures have stood for 150 years, never touched by mortar.
The stories behind these stone walls are captured in this book, first published in December 2012 and now reprinted.

TWO DAY STONE WALL WORKSHOPS

Two-day workshops are run in April and October at the historic Rosebank, Mount Pleasant. The instructor is Ian (Wally) Carline, a master waller originally from Derbyshire. These workshops are run under the auspices of the Dry-stone Walls Association of Australia (DSWAA). Students learn to build a free standing wall from scratch and how to repair a damaged wall maintaining the style of the original wall.

The cost for the weekend is $200 thanks to a subsidy from DSWAA who also provide insurance. Each workshop is limited to 12 participants.

The next workshops will be on 14/15 and 21/22 March 2015.
